Volunteer Spotlight

The Skamania County Fair is a year-round labor of love and our volunteers are truly the heart and soul of the fair.

This page serves to highlight the special people, of past and present, who make our fair happen year after year. Those who burn the midnight oil so entries can be accepted, shows can run, and our public can be educated. We simply couldn't do it without them.

Please share the love and give these helpers the recognition they so deserve.

Our Fantastic Fair Volunteers

Glenn Daman

Glenn has been volunteering with the Arts Department in the Exhibit Hall for 3 years.

Fun Fact: "I once won a goldfish at the carnival at the Spokane State Fair and then sold it to a random kid at the fair for 25 cents because I did not want to pack the goldfish around the rest of the day."

Abigale Reish

Abigale is the Baking and Food Preserves Superintendent currently, but has been volunteering with the Skamania County Fair since she was a kid.

Her favorite part of the fair is spending time in the Exhibit Hall and the Timber Carnival (don't miss it!).

Fun Fact: "I've never missed a single fair, ever since I was 8 months old, and neither have my babies. My first was 6 weeks old at her first fair."

Heather Hobbs

Heather has been volunteering in the Exhibit Hall for 20 years! Her positive attitude and cheerful disposition are well-loved around the fair. Her favorite part of our fair is seeing people I know and love and meeting new people too.

Fun Fact: Heather enjoys cold oatmeal.

Mary Davis

Mary has been volunteering with our fair for about 40 years! Thank you for your commitment to our fair, Mary! Her favorite part of fair is "seeing people that I haven’t seen since the last fair and demonstrating spinning or other fiber arts".
