A Sensory-Friendly Fair Experience
Sunflower Hour offers a quieter, calmer time to enjoy everything the Skamania County Fair has to offer. Scheduled during low-traffic hours, this special event is designed for individuals who may be overstimulated by busy crowds, loud sounds, and lots of sensations—but everyone is welcome to attend.
When to Visit
We've intentionally chosen this time to minimize foot traffic and reduce sensory input. You'll experience fewer crowds, quieter surroundings, and a more relaxed pace—before the busy showtimes, carnival ride sounds, and peak fair activity begins.
What to Expect
The entire fairgrounds will be open during Sunflower Hour, so you can explore at your own pace. Activities include:
- Exhibit Hall exploration - see quilts, artwork, baked goods, and more
- Small group animal tours - meet the chickens, rabbits, goats, and other livestock
- A welcoming atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the fair comfortably
A Community Partnership
Sunflower Hour was created through a partnership between the Two Rivers 4-H Club and the Skamania County Fair Board.
